Options & Variants Reference
Understand how option types, option values, and product variants work together.
How Variants Work
Products in Bstia use a flexible option → variant system:
- Option Types — Categories like "Size" or "Color"
- Option Values — Specific choices like "Small", "Red", "Blue"
- Variants — Generated combinations (e.g., "Small / Red", "Large / Blue")
Each variant has its own price, stock, SKU, and images.
Managing Option Types
View Options
Navigate to Options in the sidebar or visit /dashboard/{storeId}/options.
Create an Option Type
Click Add Option and set:
- Name — e.g., "Size", "Color", "Material"
- Type — Text, Color (shows color swatches), or Image
- Values — Add the specific choices
Assign to Products
When creating or editing a product, select which option types to use. The system generates all possible variant combinations automatically.
Default options
Every new store comes with Size and Color option types pre-created. You can edit or delete these.
